Hi, I’m Michelle Chin—design practitioner, leader, career coach, and founder of From the Margins. I created this practice to support designers and teams from the sidelines—allowing folks to shine and do their very best.
From the Margins also reflects my own journey. As someone from the underrepresented community in tech, I’ve faced the barriers, the doubt, and the moments of feeling like I didn’t belong. That’s exactly why I’m committed to supporting others in their journey—to help more people navigate challenges, show up fully, and thrive in spaces where we’ve too often been overlooked.
From the Margins helps individuals:
- Grow their careers in UX and product design with clarity and confidence
- Navigate career pivots, job searches, and leveling up
- Develop a stronger professional presence while staying true to who they are
From the Margins helps teams:
- Implement and scale design systems with strategic, hands-on support
- Improve workflows and collaboration through DesignOps leadership
- Make accessibility a lasting, integrated part of the design process
